2007 Annual Meeting

Program Chairs Letter

Dear Colleagues:

On behalf of the Program Committee, we invite you to the 17th Annual Meeting and Exhibition of the Wound Healing Society in association with the SAWC in beautiful Tampa, Florida. As in previous years, the meeting will be filled with stimulating talks and the opportunity to learn and to share the latest advances in basic and clinical wound healing.  New to the program this year, are the combined sessions with our colleagues in the SAWC.  We anticipate that this will bring even more interaction and exchange of ideas, along with increased opportunities for networking and collaboration.

The program will start with a great session on Genetic Approaches and Models in Wound Healing presented by four experts in the field.  Another session will cover Effect of Age on Wound Healing.  We, then, hear about Healing of Other Tissues such as bone and nerve healing. On the 3rd day of the meeting, we will have two excellent talks about Emerging Technologies.  The last session will be on Skin Equivalent Products – Industry Perspective.  We will, of course, have the regular 9 sessions with abstracts presented by you on Angiogenesis, Inflammation, Stem Cells, Acute Wound, Chronic Wounds, Oxygen, Bioengineering, Gene Therapy and Fibrosis/ Scar.  The Young Investigator Award will recognize the efforts of our junior investigators, while the Blue Ribbon Poster Award will recognize the most outstanding contributions from our industrial colleagues.

Please take advantage of the on-line submission process to be sure that your abstract is made available to us well ahead of the deadline. http://www.woundheal.org/.  The accepted abstracts will be published in Wound Repair and Regeneration.

We look forward to joining you in Tampa, Florida.
