The Wound Healing Society is pleased to offer recognition to deserving young scientists in the wound healing field. The purpose of the Young Investigator Award is to underscore the importance of furthering research in the area of wound healing by recognizing and rewarding top young researchers, and by facilitating the presentation and scientific discussion of new discoveries. Individuals chosen for consideration will present their podium abstract during the Young Investigator Session. Four winners will be selected by the Awards Committee and notified at the meeting. Each award winner will receive a monetary award, an award certificate in recognition of the high quality of their work. Also, Young Investigator Awardees will be announced and presented at the Annual Business Meeting. Photos of Awardees will be published on the Wound Healing Society website and other publications. Award recipients will receive an additional monetary award if a manuscript is submitted to the journal, Wound Repair and Regeneration within 12 months after receiving the award. Award Recipients can submit their manuscripts at http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/wrr This award is part of the Annual Meeting Abstract Submission Process. The Young Investigator Award session qualifies for CME/CNE, CPME, CDR, CEU credits up to 2.25 hours.Congratulations to the 8 trainees being considered for the WHS Young Investigator Award. The award recognizes top young researchers who are medical or graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, or residents involved in the field of wound healing. Individuals chosen for consideration will present their podium abstract during the Young Investigator Session, Friday, May 3, 2013, 09:15 to 11:30 am. A panel of judges will select the four award winners during the session. Winners will receive a monetary award and a certificate. Along with the Senior Author on the abstract, the winner must agree that the work described in the abstract will be submitted as a manuscript to the journal Wound Repair and Regeneration. The manuscript is to be submitted within the next 12 months after receiving the award. Upon submission of their manuscript to the Wound Repair & Regeneration Journal, and notifying the WHS, the remaining balance of the award will be sent. Presentation of the Young Investigator Awards will be made at the Annual Meeting. We require attendance of all eight Young Investigator Abstract Presenters at this event. In addition, the 2013 first place winner will be invited to present their winning paper at the next annual meeting of the European Tissue Repair Society. The 2013 Young Investigator Award Nominees
