Mission

The Mission of the Wound Healing Society is to advance the science and practice of wound healing.

About the Society

The Wound Healing Society is a non-profit organization composed of clinical and basic scientists. The Society provides a forum for interaction among scientists, physicians, licensed practitioners, industrial representatives and government agencies. Membership to the Society is open to individuals who have a demonstrated interest in the field of wound healing.

Founded in 1990, the Society is recognized among professionals and government agencies as the leading scientific organization focused in this area of wound healing. Today, its membership consists of about 500 physicians, residents, practitioners, students and other researchers from the U.S. and other countries. The Society publishes the leading journal in this area, Wound Repair and Regeneration.

Free Access To The Chronic Wound Care Guidelines The publication of the Guidelines for the Treatment of Chronic Wounds by the Wound Healing Society (WHS) in the December 2006 issue of Wound Repair and Regeneration (WRR) represents the culmination of a three-year effort involving numerous individuals and entities. Endorsed by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. On behalf of the WHS and WRR, we are happy to announce permanent open access to this issue of the journal, through the link below.

Free Access To The Prevention Guidelines The committees were charged with extending their work to address evidence-based modalities for preventing chronic wounds.  These were published in the March-April 2008 issue of Wound Repair and Regeneration.  On behalf of the WHS and WRR, we are happy to announce permanent open access to this issue of the journal, through the link below.

If you wish to receive the Wound Care Guidelines pamphlets please send an email to: member@woundheal.org with the quantity needed, name, company, complete address and phone number and in what manner you will be using the guidelines and we will send them out at our earliest convenience.

If you wish to download the guidelines to your PDA, and have not already downloaded a PDF reader for your PDA,  simply go to the Adobe site and download the appropriate reader for your PDA, i.e. Palm for a Palm, etc.  Then you can easily access the Guidelines PDF file.
