Loyola University Chicago

Loyola University Medical Center’s Burn and Shock Trauma Institute is seeking new and established investigators with research interest in tissue injury and repair. Areas of specialty may include but are not limited to inflammation, connective tissue metabolism, wound healing, fibrotic disorders, tissue engineering, angiogenesis, and epithelial barrier function.  

As an integral part of Loyola’s campus wide initiative to expand multi-disciplinary research teams capable of addressing scientific problems with high clinical impact, the Institute is comprised of established investigators each with their own unique, but complementary research programs. Successful applicants will hold a PhD, MD, or equivalent degree, have relevant post-doctoral or prior faculty experience is required, and will be expected to develop and maintain their own extramurally-funded research program. Positions will be filled at a level commensurate with experience. Loyola Medical Center offers excellent laboratory facilities, competitive salary and startup packages, and access to state-of-the-art core facilities. POST DOCTORAL POSITION

Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine

Postdoctoral positions are available to study “Signaling in Tissue Injury & Repair” in several well-funded laboratories at the VCU Medical Center in Richmond, VA. The positions are funded by an NIH Institutional NRSA (T32 GM008695). The objective of this training program is to provide an intensive 2-year laboratory experience for young physicians and basic scientists to help them develop as independent investigators in preparation for a career in academics. Lead Scientist, Division of Surgical Research, Sinai Hospital of Baltimore

A Lead Scientist position is available in a surgical research laboratory dedicated to studying immune and nutritional regulation of wound healing, biology of nitric oxide in healing processes, surgical nutrition and healing in the GI tract.  A PhD or MD is required with a background in a broad range of molecular and cellular biology.  Should have experience with both in vivo small animal and in vitro techniques. Responsibilities include day to day running of the surgical research laboratory, overseeing research fellows and technicians, ability to communicate results in a clear manner both verbally and in writing and ability to obtain peer reviewed extramural funding.
